Our Common Home: A Guide to Caring for Our Living Planet has been issued by the Stockholm Institute for the Environment and the Dicastery for the Service of Integral Human Development. The booklet, replete with diagrams, builds on the contents of Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato si’, to offer the ordinary person scientific information on climate change and its consequences, along with suggestions as to how to use our planet’s resources in a responsible way.
The Guide links science regarding climate change, biodiversity and sustainable resource use with the messages in Laudato si’ concerning the earth, our common home. It presents scientific knowledge on today’s most pressing environmental issues and explains how people and communities can take action to build a more sustainable and socially just future for everyone.
