On 5 February, the anniversary of the death of Venerable Thecla Merlo, co-foundress of the Daughters of St. Paul, the FSPs of India experienced a very joyful event: the inauguration and blessing of the Province’s new Book and Media Center in Lucknow. For the Diocese of Lucknow, the opening of a center for religious books and articles was the realization of a long-awaited dream because up to then there had been no store in the entire area in which people could find books and other material for their spiritual growth.
The Daughters of St. Paul are deeply grateful to the Lord for opening this door for them and they sincerely thank Bishop Gerald Mathias for requesting our Pauline presence in Lucknow. After Sunday Mass on 5 February, all the faithful gathered in front of the new Pauline Center to participate in the blessing and inauguration ceremony. The theme of the event was a quote from Blessed James Alberione, who said: “Our book centers are places of light and warmth in Jesus Christ.”
