The city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil recently hosted the 25th Congress of the Society for Theology and Religious Sciences (SOTER).
About 300 theologians from all over Latin America participated in the event, which centered on the theme, Religions and World Peace.
The ecumenical thrust of the encounter was reinforced by the presence of members of different religions, as well as by the content of the conferences, the subsequent discussions and the use of today?s new technologies, which allowed the participants to keep in touch with world situations.
The Daughters of St. Paul contributed to the Congress in various ways: as one of the sponsors of the event, through a book and audiovisual display, and through co-editions with SOTER aimed at promoting the thought of young theologians.
The SOTER Council praised our sisters? noteworthy contribution over the past 25 years to this annual Congress by awarding them a special certificate of recognition?a public expression of gratitude for our Institute?s contribution to theological reflection in Latin America.
