Following the days of the Passion, we now contemplate the blinding light of the Sun of Easter and joyfully celebrate the risen Christ, who ascends victoriously from the abyss of death. His light transfigures every reality; his vital energy penetrates the innermost fibers of our existence in the fragments of history. In the radiant light of Easter morning, we are called to walk “in newness of life” (Rm. 6:4); to be new persons who preserve in their hearts the amazement of an encounter that has transformed their lives (cf.
