On 23 March 2023, the FSP International Multimedia Center, Via del Mascherino, Rome, hosted a presentation of the book, Catechism of the Spiritual Life, the latest work of Cardinal Robert Sarah, published in Italian, English, Spanish, French and Portuguese, all of which are available in the Center. The Cardinal, of Guinean ethnicity, is Prefect Emeritus of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, and has authored numerous texts that have quickly become bestsellers.
The meeting was conducted with clarity and competence by journalist Marina Ricci, former Vatican reporter for Italy’s channel 5 news network. The many people who participated in the event showed great interest in what the Cardinal shared with simplicity and passion and manifested their esteem for his witness of life. A man of prayer and deep faith, he reminded his audience of the importance of silence and a sense of the sacred in a society dominated by noise and media exposure that runs the risk of penetrating human lives always more, including those of believers.
At the end of the meeting, the Cardinal delivered a message to all those present and to those who followed the event online through the Paoline International Facebook page, urging everyone to help convince people that Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever because God does not change, and to awaken the faithful through prayer and the sacraments to live more authentic and profound lives as Christians.
