Sowing Hope for the Planet is an initiative promoted by the International Union of Women Superiors General (UISG) and its related institutions to put Pope Francis’ encyclical Laudato si’ into concrete action by sharing ideas, formation, and working in synergy to care for our sick planet.
Established in 2018, the project’s goal is not simply to gather information and try to calm the distress about the environment felt by the earth’s inhabitants at every latitude, but above all to strive to recognize what is happening to our planet in our own personal realities in order to determine what contribution each person can make to improving the situation.
So as to unify religious communities and congregations around the world with regard to this theme, the Laudato si’ Platform of Initiatives was born: a bold and creative structure and a wonderful way to facilitate interconnection among all those who are sensitive to the needs of the earth and the rights of the poor.
