On 15 May, the FSP publication, “1861: Un’avventura italiana” (1861: An Italian Adventure) by A. Strada and G. Spini was awarded first prize in a contest organized by the Book Salon for Children held in Bra, Italy.
In bestowing the award, the panel of judges, made up of members of Bra’s Municipal Council for Children, said: “The book recounts important anecdotes in Italian history, using simple and understandable language to skillfully interweave these events in an adventurous, imaginative and moving way. The result is a story that will help children get to know and love Italian history ‘painlessly.’ Given the fact that this year we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, this book is very timely and we [the judges] are unanimous in deciding that it merits first prize.”
Our warm congratulations to the authors of the book and also to its publishers!
