The National Synodal process in England and Wales, begun in October 2021, came to an end with the publication of a National Synthesis on the part of the Episcopal Conference on 1 June 2022. The Synthesis is the result of the consultation of thousands of people and just as many pages of diocesan reports that were the groundwork for this document.
The Daughters of St. Paul actively contributed to the work of the Synod: Sr. Elaine Penrice, fsp, Director of the National Vocation Office of the Episcopal Conference of England and Wales, was a member of the synthesis drafting group, and Sr. Bernadette Reis, fsp, a member of the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communication, moderated the round table discussions.
In addition, the methodology of the Synod was inspired by the Pauline charism and its official prayer was an adaptation of the third part of the Chaplet to Mary Queen of Apostles.
