Pastoral Care of the Road: A Journey Together was the theme of the first Meeting of Pastoral Care of the Road for the Continent of Africa and Madagascar. The encounter, held in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, from 11-15 September 2012, was organized by the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People in collaboration with the Episcopal Commission for Migrants and Itinerant People of Tanzania.
The main objective of the meeting was to promote initiatives and pastoral programs of the Local Churches to assist those who live on the streets and those whose work is connected with streets, namely: women, children, homeless people, those who transport goods by road and those whose work concerns road safety.
