Held on 23 February in the FSP Treviso Book Center, the meeting was sponsored by Cittadinanzattiva Treviso in collaboration with our local Pauline Book Center and District House. The theme of the encounter, “Fragility: ideas and facts, for the inclusion of fragile people, consisted of a reflection on human frailties triggered by the FSP initiative Libro Sospeso 2024.
Book Center customers were invited to buy a book to contribute to this initiative and to write an inscription on its flyleaf, after which the books were sent to the inmates of Treviso prison. The FSP initiative to donate books to prisoners is very compatible with Cittadinanzattiva’s goal to reach out to people whose condition in life isolates them in various ways from society. In fact, feedback from the Association’s hospitality centers has revealed that many people who are imprisoned, who suffer from chronic diseases, who are senior citizens or housebound, etc., have a great thirst to broaden their knowledge, and a book can be an important tool to help satisfy that desire.
