This was the theme of a meeting recently held by the FSPs and SSPs of Colombia in collaboration with the local Bishops’ Conference and St. Alphonsus University.

The purpose of the encounter was to reflect more deeply on the theme chosen by Pope Benedict XVI for World Communications Day 2011. Attending the event were journalists, professors, men and women religious and representatives of the various communications media, both religious and secular.

Particularly noteworthy was the presence of the country’s Minister for Information and Communications. The opening of the meeting was broadcast via both television and the Internet.

In expanding the borders of information and knowledge, the digital era brings us closer to the most important objective for media workers, namely: “to proclaim the Truth.”
